Senior Portraits Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long do I get with my photographer?
$40 gets you 1 hour with a photographer and some assistants, including traveling time between locations.

2. Do I get to keep the photos? How are they delivered to me?
Of course! You're paying for them! We provide an album online with high resolution images.

3. Does Photo.Club offer prints? How much does printing cost?
Yes!  Prints are offered along with our online gallery and vary in price depending on photo size and other options.  A price list is available along with your online gallery.

4. What if I don't like my photos?
In the event that you are unhappy with your photos, we would be happy to try and resolve any problems.

5. How many photographers will be at my shoot?
It depends on availability. You can expect anywhere from 1-4.

6. What if it rains or the weather is bad?
In the event of bad weather on the day of the photoshoot, your designated photographer will contact you to reschedule your photoshoot.

7. What if I need to cancel?
If for any reason you would like to cancel your session, please contact your main photographer as soon as possible via email.

8. Where can I have my photos taken?
Some of the popular locations include: Geisel library, snake path, UCSD Bear, Stonehenge, the woods near SHS, Institute of Americas, and Scripps Pier. You may also discuss any other locations with your photographer ahead of time.

9. Can I have photos taken with a friend/in a group?
Sure! Please let your photographer know how many people you intend to have at your shoot as soon as you know the number. Note that additional $10 will be charged for each additional person for the same time frame.

10. How long will it take for me to get my photos?
Processing photos can take up 2 weeks, but we try to get them up in under a week.

11. How do I make an appointment?
To schedule an appointment, please visit here and complete the form. We will contact you to confirm your appointment, but no forms will be officially processed until payment for the session has been received in full.

12. I want the BEST photographer you have, how do I make this happen?
It's hard to really say any photographer is the best, but rest assured that all of our portrait photographers at Photo.Club are trained and experienced in photography.

13. Will my photos be retouched?
Photos can be retouched upon request.

14. What is the money I pay used for?
The money you pay goes back into UCSD Photo.Club and helps us keep running as a club.  Our Senior Portrait Sessions are our primary source of fundraising throughout the year and helps pay for club fees and expenses such as web-hosting, printing, and events.

15. What forms of payment do you accept?
Our primary means of payment processing is through Google Checkout, where you may securely use a credit card to pay for your session.  Cash and check may also be accepted with an additional $5 processing fee.

16. What should I wear to my shoot?
The choice is entirely yours! You can wear your cap and gown or showcase your fashionable side as well.

17. Do you have samples that I could see from past shoots?
Visit our gallery for samples of our past senior portraits.

18. I'm not a senior nor am I graduating, but I still want to have portraits taken. Can I make an appointment too?
Of course! We'll be happy to take your portraits. Please visit here and complete the form to schedule an appointment. HOWEVER, these portrait sessions and the associated rates are only available to students, professors, and others closely affiliated with UCSD. If you are not affiliated with UCSD, your session with be booked at a different rate. Please inquire regarding these private photo sessions by email.

19. Can I request a photographer?
We'll try our best to accommodate, but we can't make guarantees, especially considering a photographer's availability.

20. About how many pictures can I expect?
It really depends on how may photographers are assisting and how many locations you visit. You can definitely expect great portraits!

21. How do I know that you guys are legit?
UCSD Photo.Club is the official and registered Photography Club and organization of the University of California - San Diego.  We have a proven track record of reliable and quality service to our members, school, and community.  Our organization is a registered non-profit that holds this Senior Portraits fundraiser annually only to support our club's operating costs.  Information regarding our organization's official registration with UCSD can be found here.  If you have any questions regarding our services or the club itself, please contact us at info@ucsdphotoclub.com
